Hello,

The plan is to produce a pilot lasting about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

The date is not confirmed but I would like to think we could have something to show in September.

Please post ideas and suggestions for the pilot here:

On practicality alone, I think the show would be better with a lot of taped segments which are just played at the right time. Just because 1) people's schedule's can be a bit messy, so the smaller the amount of people you need for the live show the better and 2) It gives us such a wide wide array of stuff we can get on the show (because while some of us aren't free during the day, some of our audience won't be during other times, and finally 3) if we mess up, we can just go "and now let's cut over to ...."

Hiya,

I'm finding it very hard to picture the first show...are we looking at lots of short segments, a bit like a taster of things to come (maybe with a longer version available for download)...or 2/3 longer items...or ???

Are we trying for an overall "general interest" sort of first show...or one with several more "specialised" segments?

Lesley

Oh...and I think we should certainly find ourselves a local amateur weather forecaster!

Recorded may be best unless we get anyone who wants to fill a live slot.

I recon' we need an intro to what is LBTV, who's involved, why and what we hope to 'provide'! (5mins)

Next a quick 'ad' to show what's coming up in the programme, so as to appeal as many people as possible, before they loose interest....(30secs)

A bit like The One Show, which is very well presented and covers a wide range of features

I suggest we split the next ...5-10 mins each

* News, events, from local clubs, societies etc (Scouts, Leighton Society, Round Table.....)

* Sports feature, news, people, promotion (Football, rugby, cricket, tennis, swimming ,running, biking...)

* Local council news events...(planning, improvements, thoughts from locals, e.g.; on the great new traffic scheme)

* Business feature

* Entertainment (what's on, been on, music, bands, theatre, stuff for kids to do.....)

* Fun article, some to leave the audience on a high....& to be continued??

....any other suggestions??
catogories...

I agree there should be pre-recorded stuff but with the right amount of rehearsal live can work really well. There will be times when we may want to have a guest live on the show who can't make the lice show time so we may need to record it 'as live'. And there is no better buzz than live TV!

VidBlaster allows us to record the show as we put it out so less than 10 minutes after the show has finished we can have it on the site for people to download it and watch at a time that is good for them.

A magazine type show. I guess BBC's The One Show is a good example. There is something for everyone!

Love the weather forcaster idea.

There is enough people with the ability to create 'coming up later' ads.

We need to think about title music and music to be used with ins and outs for video etc. Who wants to attempt to pen a title piece??

We could get a local band to actually make the song (with the ideal of a filmed interview in return).
In terms of the opening package video-wise, what would you like in it? I've done a lot of highlight packages and tribute video's etc. but I'd need to know what the clips would be to film them, or to have them already filmed so I can edit straight away.

Great idea about the band! Would a band be willing?

Not thought about the opening video, maybe clips of things like: a clip of BuzzRail, a person cycling along a cycle route, a narrow-boat going along the canal, people walking by the monument in LB etc etc....just an idea.
